The Number 19

The number of Qur’anic chapters, surahs is 114, a multiple of the number 19. Allah, the almighty challenges all mankind and jinns to produce the like of the holy Qur’an; Allah says in the holy Qur’an:

“Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.” Isra’: 17:88

The number of words of the above verse, in Arabic, is nineteen and the number of its letters is 76, a multiple of the number 19 and the number of Arabic alphabets of which the above verse is written is also 19 letters and the total of 19+ 19 + 76= 114, the same number as that of the chapters of the holy Qur’an! We can’t but glorify Allah, the almighty who says in the holy Qur’an:

“Over it are Nineteen.” Mudather: 74:30

Granite rocks, despite their compactness and solid nature, and despite the absence of holes on their surface, nevertheless allow the passage of water through ever-so small pores inside of them. This special feature allows water that falls from the sky to be stored below the Earth’s surface after its passage through the pores of these rocks. And if it were not for this feature that God granted these rocks, water, our source of life, could not have been stored into the depths of the Earth.

Beautifully, the Qur’an has pointed to this source of pure water: {And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease).} [Al-Mu’minun, 23:18]. This verse is but a confirmation that the water contained on Earth is nothing more than rain water; something that has been scientifically proven! This fact, however, had not been discovered during the time the Qur’an was revealed, so who could have informed the Prophet (peace be upon him) of such knowledge?

Secrets of camels1

The ability of the camel to survive in desert conditions without water for long periods of time is rivaled by none as they can glean much of their needed water from desert vegetation, and can survive after losing over 40 percent of their body weight in water.when water is available (fresh or salty), camels drink well- up to 57 liters at a time and it has a flexible 'thermostat', and will not start sweating until their body temperature reaches 42C. Nor do heating mechanisms kick in during the cooler nights until the internal temperature reaches 34C .the physiological adaptation allows the camel to "store" coolness in preparation for the next day. Also the camel has a hump used for energy storage in the form of fat. Allah Almighty says: (Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?* and at the Sky, how it is raised high?* and at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?*and at the Earth, how it is spread out?*Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish)(Sûrat AlGhasyha-The

The Biologists say that camel’s mouth is very sturdy to be able to chew thorny desert plants, also the camels have long eyelashes and ear hairs, together with sealable nostrils, form a barrier against sand. Their gait and their widened feet help them move without sinking into the sand. Also to save water the kidneys and intestine of a camel are very efficient at retaining water. Urine comes out as thick syrup, and their feces are so dry that they can fuel fires. Camels do not store water in their humps as is commonly believed, the humps are actually a reservoir of fatty tissue. Concentrating body fat in their humps minimizes heat-trapping insulation throughout the rest of their body, which may be an adaptation to living in hot climates. When this tissue is metabolized, it acts as a source of energy, and yields more than 1 g of water for each 1 g of fat converted through reaction with oxygen from air. Glory to Allah who says: (Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?) (Sûrat Al-Ghasyha-the Kneeling-verse 17).

Biologists have discovered that old people should continue to work and that the retirement age is wrong because aging-associated diseases have enormously spread among those who had stopped working after a certain period of time. All glory to Allah since there’s no retirement age in Islam for Muslims continue to work until the last moment of their lives. Allah, the exalted, for instance says in the holy Qur’an:

And serve thy Lord

Until there come unto thee

The Hour that is Certain. Hijr: 99 (Ibid)

“The hour that is certain” means death. It follows therefore that worshipping god never stops even if man is dying. All praise to Allah for the grace of Islam.

Entomologists declare that as soon as an ant gets sick and dies, it secretes a distinctive smell that’s referred to as the death smell and so another ant carries it and puts it away to avoid the spread of diseases. Researchers confirm that in so doing, ant communities resemble those of humans. Miraculously, the Holy Qur’an has revealed this fact at a time when people believed that such creatures have no intelligence what so ever. However, Allah, the creator of this entire world and who knows what is secret and what’s yet more hidden says:

There is not an animal

(That lives) on the earth,

Nor a being that flies

On its wings, but (forms

Part of) communities like you.

Nothing have we omitted

From the Book, and they (all)

Shall be gathered to their Lord

In the end. An’am or Cattle: 38
